South Shelter

The South Shelter collection takes the idea of construction, of layers, of different processes layered to create strength; fabrics include many Japanese woven Jacquards which are then given extra dying treatments to change their appearance. Hemp replaces cotton, Jacquard replaces print. Most notable items in the collection are the Maintenance jacket and chinos which are made up of vintage fabric which is hand finished with paint splats in bleach and oil paint. The South Shelter title is reference to the isolated and melancholy illustration used on the t-shirt print. While the daisy, palm tree, and tropical aloha prints give the collection a playful undertone. Stand in, not out.
